New Adventures

Ok, So we haven't been very good about keeping this updated... It's been like 2 years... kind of forgot about it. However, we're here now to update you!! (You're on the edge of your seat, I'm sure).

First of all, THANK YOU to Stephanie's mom, Eileen who helped us redesign our blog! It looks AWESOME!!! Enjoy!

So, what have we been up to in the last, oh, 2 years and 4 months? Well, we adopted a new kitten in April of 2008 (No, we don't have kids yet), his name is Romeo (he was born on Valentine's day). He's very cute. He and Tinkerbell seem to get along pretty well and play together a lot (at night when we're trying to sleep). Yes, they are our children for the time being.

We bought a house in Eagle Mountain, Utah in December 2007. It's really cute. 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a full basement, and about 1900 sqft. We love it, however, this year (in May) we decided to move to Arizona after Travis lost his job (along with so many others in this economy). He couldn't find a decent job in Utah, so we put out house up for sale.

Well, with the current state of the economy, we were not able to sell it without taking a huge loss, so we decided to rent it out for a year or two. We found some MAGNIFICENT renters who will love our home as we did. They are working out great and it's such a huge burden lifted from our shoulders.

Travis moved to Arizona in May to begin the job hunt, and Stephanie followed in June (crashing with our WONDERFUL friends, Dave and Linda in the interim). We are staying with Stephanie's gracious parents until we get settled and can find a small place of our own. We haven't yet decided if we will rent or buy right now, with the Utah house, buying is a little scary right now, but we'll pray about it and with the Lord's help, try to figure out what we should do.

Travis got a job with Verizon Wireless which seems to be working out well right now, and the pay is pretty good. Stephanie was able to transfer with State Farm and even ended up with a pay raise!! What luck! She seems to like the job and the people she works with which is a huge plus, so things are looking alright. :)

It may not make too much sense to everyone out there, but we felt this was the right thing to do, and everything just seemed to fall into place pretty well. You know, when you're faced with one person losing their job and the possibility of also losing your house staring you in the face, you do what you can to preserve your life. Travis couldn't find a job in Utah that would pay the bills, and we couldn't really afford to live on Stephanie's salary alone up there (rent, etc was just too expensive) so we moved to Arizona.

Honestly, this is where we wanted to be eventually anyways. Close to family, and out of the snow!! :) The biggest downside is that now, even though we're close to Stephanie's family, we're a LOT farther from Travis's family which is a huge bummer. We love them very much and hate to be so far away, but we're hoping that once we get a little more settled and secure that we'll be able to visit more often, we really miss them.

Well, I guess that's all for now. I know it wasn't a whole lot, but what can I say, we're boring! :) We love you all, and thanks for checking out our blog! We'll try to keep it more current than we have in the past (I know, you've heard that before).

Love,
Travis & Stephanie
